WebDD – When is the next one boys?
I had a brilliant day ad WebDD on Saturday. Was really good to SEE Scott Guthrie in the flesh. Only problem was EVERYONE wanted to see him too, which meant it turned into a bit of a Scott fest.
I ran the grok talks session at lunch time again and that was a lot of fun. Many thanks have to go out to Dave McMahon, John Price, Richard Costall and Daniel Moth for your talks.
WebbDD Grok Talk wiki is up
I’m going to be running the grok talks at webdd. Click here to put your name down for a talk.

It’s free and there is free pizza, so no excuses! Oh I’ll be there too
*IMPORTANT* Upgrade of your email service for zimakki.com
Dear Customer,
The email service for your hosting account is provided by one of our
Linux mailservers. We are upgrading the mail storage mechanism on
this server to ensure that we can provide an email solution for you
which meets our performance targets.
** This upgrade will be carried out on Thursday 9 Nov 2006 **
Most of the changes will be transparent to you:
– Your mailboxes, forwarders and configuration will be maintained.
– Stored mail will be converted to the new format.
– Your usernames and passwords will not change.
– The URLs you use to access your email control panel and webmail
will not change.
There are two changes that you need to be aware of and take action on
as required:
– Mail will be stored in a different way, to improve performance and
remove certain problems. Mail which is in your mailbox(es) at the
time of the upgrade will be converted to the new format, but we
recommend that you ensure that you download mail to your PC regularly
to minimise the amount of mail which needs to be converted.
– Neomail webmail will no longer be available (it is incompatible
with the new mail storage mechanism, as well as being very old and
subject to numerous technical problems). You *must* therefore ensure
that you have a copy of any information you need which is currently
in Neomail (eg address books, stored email, etc). Horde and
SquirrelMail will continue to be available for webmail.
If you need any information or help, please let us know.
